The very first user-friendly improvement in the device is in the voice-guided instructions that the device uses to help you during navigation. Earlier, the TomTom GO 910 would instruct you as follows ‘ Take the right turn’- it will now say ‘Turn right on Castle Street’.

The TomTom GO 910 comes integrated with Bluetooth technology that makes it easy to pair it with a Bluetooth compatible cellphone and use it for a truly hand-free calling experience. The GO 910 has an in-built speaker and microphone so the entire unit can be use for dialing numbers, as a speakerphone and even to manage your contacts. To add more functionality to the GPS device, you can avail of the TomTom Plus services. These allow you to receive updated information about things that may affect you and your travel. For example, you can get real-time information about traffic, weather and so on. Further, if you require some additional POIs to cover the areas that you are traveling to, you can download them using the TomTom Plus services. In fact, recognizing the increasing desire of people to stay connected with friends and family at all times, the TomTom GO 910 through the TomTom Buddies service, will allow you to see if any of your friends are connected and if they are, to communicate with them.

The TomTom GO 910 also features some very advanced technology features. For example, it includes an iPod interface that allows you to connect and control your iPod through the GO 910. In addition, you can use the device to play the music on your car stereo. The other features are an MP3 player and an image gallery. All these make the GPS device not just functional but fun to use.

The TomTom GO 510 is similar in features to the TomTom GO 910 except that it does not contain many of the extra features that the GO 910 does. For example, it contains maps only of the United States and Canada, not Europe. There is no MP3 player or slideshow viewer. In addition, the GO 910 has a whopping 20 GB storage space allowing it to store as many maps, audio files or pictures that you want.
